Estimates of GenAI Use in the 1KA Panel 2026 Relatively Close to SURS Data
A comparison of data for 2026 suggests that estimates of generative AI (GenAI) use from the 1KA panel are broadly in line with the prevalence of use in Slovenia, although some differences remain.
According to SURS, 62% of people aged 16–74 and 10% of those aged 75–89 used GenAI in the first quarter of 2026. Based on these percentages and the population sizes of the two age groups, we estimate that approximately 64% of internet users aged 16–89 used GenAI. In the 1KA Panel survey, conducted in April and May 2026, the corresponding share among adult internet users was 80%.
